Coming on terms with our fears

There are times when we have no choice but to come to terms with our fears simply because we find ourselves in the situation that we fear. We could run and hide or we could stand firm and just do what we need to do. Whether it is our minds that overpower our fears or the fact that as we act we are actually taking control of our fears, we usually do much better when we don’t run and hide.

Fears can be ferocious monsters in our life that track us like bad movies. They hang over us, they berate us, and of course they creep up on us. However, the person who fights their fears and pushes forward is always a little better for doing so. There is pride in countering a fear with action and there is pride in knowing that you are still standing despite your emotional turmoil. We can all learn to fight down even our biggest monsters, but we can’t all express our fears in the same way. It can only be done one step at a time and one moment at a time. Sometimes fears are short lived and sometimes they are much more than that, lingering throughout an entire life time. Either way, everyone can overcome the fears that plague them, whether or not they know it. The beauty of beating one fear even just one time is that it opens the door to beat down the next fear.
